Prerequisites

To benefit from the STOR-i experience you will need to have demonstrated excellence in your studies and be committed to playing an active role in an innovative programme where collaboration and integration are key skills.

The STOR-i programme could be for you if you have:

  • A real desire to use your technical skills to make a significant impact.
  • A keen interest in being part of an innovative research programme, integrating and co-operating with like-minded peers, industrial partners and academics across a range of disciplines.
  • An eagerness to embrace new approaches to research and its applications.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire and influence others.

Typically we would expect you to:

  • Have undertaken an undergraduate or master's course with a substantial mathematical content, for example, mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science or engineering,

             OR

  • Be expecting to achieve in the coming year, or already hold, a first class honours degree in a subject with substantial mathematical content.

You do not require expertise in both statistics and operational research but having a degree which includes a substantial content of either would be an advantage.
