Training programme

Our one-year MRes equips you with the skills and methods required to conduct research in STOR and provides guidance to ensure you choose the right PhD project for you.

Research programme

On successful completion of the MRes, you will progress to a PhD during which you will develop leading research in STOR with practical application in industry.

Industrial engagement

STOR-i benefits from committed support from leading industry partners taking vital roles in the continual collaboration between academic and industrial research.

Funding

Significantly enhanced funding is available for up to 10 PhD students per year, comparing favourably to graduate salaries.

It aims to develop a new generation of researcher capable of making a real impact in both academic and industrial fields.

STOR-i, based at Lancaster University, is backed by a £4.3million award from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and benefits from considerable, committed support from leading industry partners including BT, Shell, Unilever and the Met Office.
